The Urban Mods
The Urban Mods have just released this stand-alone drum and bass mix of CellarHouse's Dark Light. This dark floor filler doesn't disappoint. It's a fresh take on dark-liquid DnB: brooding synths, dirty breaks, a killer vocal and euphoric breakdowns.
This new release marks the return of the men-in-black. You've been warned. Now, turn it up and dance like a madman my friends. Available at Beatport and all good music stores: Halloween 31.10.20
(edited preview on youtube)
The return of The Urban Mod. Back in the early 90's this remix outift comprised of Mr Blockhouse: Jezz Wright and PressureM - Mark Wright (CentreForce original) who together, released some quality break-beat & house tunes under several pseudonyms, The Urban Mods being one of them.
Now they're back twisting the True Blockhouse releases into mixes worthy of serious floor fillers.
The re-imagining of Marshall Jefferson / CeCe Rogers 'Someday' kicked off this project in 2017. Jezz co-produced Liquid's Sweet Harmony in 1992, based on this classic house track, this unfinished demo became an anthem that helped define the early 90's rave scene.
Jezz eventually left the music business to concentrate on a career in broadcast journalism but was persuaded to return to 'finish' the demo in 2017 by long-time collaborator and good friend Mark Wright (PressureM : Centreforce)
Originally released as Blockhouse : Someday - Jezz & Mark decided to dedicate their free time to reviving their old partnership - 'The Urban Mods'.
So here is the re-mastered 2017 Urban Mods/Blockhouse version. This is the rethink mix which inspired the CellarHouse track of the same name. This deleted release can still be found on YouTube and SoundCloud
